Talabat, EGBANK, Al-Alfi Foundation Partner with Ministry of Youth and Sports Under “Your Bike Your Income” Initiative

 

 

 

 

 

 

‏Ushering the second phase of ‘Your Bike Your Income’ initiative, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, talabat, EG Bank and Al Alfi Foundation for Human and Social Development signed a protocol of cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The partnership aims to enable Egyptian youth, by equipping 238 riders with co-funded bikes by talabat and EG Bank to generate additional income.

 

‏The partnership comes in line with the Ministry’s vision around youth engagement and improving public health, as well as the parties’ long-standing commitment to youth enablement, employment faciliation and promoting sustainable business practices. With the purpose of equipping Egyptian youth with a transportation method to generate additional income, the protocol will see the Minisitry of Youth and Sports provide co-financed bikes by talabat and EG Bank, with Al-Afi Foundation in charge of supervising the implementation proccess and upskilling riders.

 

‏The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and the protocol was signed by Dr. Sonia Abdel Wahab, Director of the Central Department for Sports Development, Hadeer Shalaby, Managing Director of talabat Egypt, Nelly Mahmoud Chief Communication Officer & Head Of Youth Banking & Financial Inclusion at EGBANK, and Nermeen Abou Gazia, CEO of Al Alfi Foundation.

 

‏On this occasion, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports iterated during his speech that the protocol stems from the government’s belief in the importance of youth engagment in shaping the country’s future. He praised the role played by the parties in sponsoring national projects within the framework of national development plans in various sectors, including the “Your Bike…Your Health” initiative.

 

‏Commenting on the partnership, Hadeer Shalaby, Managing Director to talabat Egypt said: “We are honored to be advancing the government’s efforts towards youth enablement and leveraging talabat’s position in the ecosystem to generate further economic opportunities and reduce transport-emissions, especially in partnership with such influential organizations that place youth and income generation at the core of what they do.”

 

‏From her part, Nelly Mahmoud Chief Communication Officer & Head Of Youth Banking & Financial Inclusion at EGBANK stated, “238 job opportunities through this initiative represents the solidarity of both the private and public sector to support youth and achieve a tangible impact on their lives by providing job opportunities for young generations. EGBANK always seek to achieve financial independence for youth, integrate them into the labor market and develop their skills under the umbrella of the financial inclusion strategy. What makes this initiative unique, in addition to empowering Egyptian youth, is achieving environmental impact through reducing carbon emissions by using bicycles for transportation instead of fuel engines.”
